A wonderful discovery! We had a meal with colleagues to celebrate the end of the year. The food was high quality, beautifully presented, and the service was pleasant and quick. I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere was pleasant. We came for a cheddar burger, but luckily they were sold out, so we opted for duck breast instead, which was excellent. The starter was refreshing. A minor complaint about the "café gourmand" (gourmet coffee): the lemon tart crust was clearly mass-produced, and the lemon cream wasn't really lemony. The crepe cake was ordinary, but the chocolate treat was very good.
We might come back.

After many days riding between Montivilliers and the surrounding hills, I stopped at a place called Le JB, located on the Sainte-Croix mountain, to eat and regain my strength for continuing my adventures in His Majesty's service. My horse, exhausted by the road and the salty wind of the Normandy coast, received a short rest in the village stable, while I entered the establishment's rustic and welcoming dining room.
I ordered sweet potatoes, a dish I had heard about but had scarcely tasted in the kingdom. At the first bite, I found myself pondering the origin of these roots, wondering if they came from Andalusia, or from some distant land across the sea, like the spices brought from the ports of Marseille or Bruges. Their orange flesh, sweet and tender, evoked the bountiful harvests of the Normandy fields, and their rich, delicate flavor almost made me exclaim in surprise.
Each piece was like discovering uncharted territory: the melting texture recalled the patient work of farmers in their furrows, while the slightly sweet aroma awakened memories of feasts in the markets of Rouen and Honfleur. I found myself comparing these flavors with those of the more rustic and familiar tubers of the kingdom, discovering in these sweet potatoes an unexpected nobility of taste.
Throughout the meal, I wondered about the origin of these exotic roots and the routes they had traveled to reach my plate. The attentive service, the aromas of the herbs, and the comfort of the dining room made this meal a moment worthy of a knight in search of strength and wisdom. I left the place invigorated, amazed by this dish which seemed to carry within it the promise of distant lands and future feasts.
