Le Laupet sur Gresse-En-Vercors

We got to Le Laupet, at 8:30 last night (October), we had been driving for 16 hours, our two extremely tired and hungry children, were with us. We knocked on the door, of the empty place, as we saw two people sitting inside enjoying what looked like a last beer before going home, (it turned out they were the boss and his friend) we prayed and hoped that they might still be able to serve something edible. And boy were we in for a surprise: Not only did they, usher us in and make us feel more than welcome. They spoke broken English and German and understood our teeny tiny bit of French, the boss turned the entire kitchen back on for us and cooked four meals for us, gave us some home made ham/sausage/meat, gave our children something to draw on, made sure my husband had enough beer (but not to much) and I had the most delicious wine. The food was delicious and afterwards he put an entire bowl of mousse au chocolat on the table for us to enjoy and gave our children some ice cream. The price was amazingly cheap and of course we left a good tip. It was one of nicest, most memorable evenings we had in France. Merci Beaucoup!

An unusual place, you either love it or you don't.

The vegetarian salad was very good and quite generous. Pleasant setting, with a view of the Grand Veymont.

After a lovely morning of cycling, I had the brilliant idea of ​​having an aperitif and lunch. It was delicious!

A quick question: a very pleasant stop in Laupet. We had two delicious crêpes. The welcome was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. We recommend it!

Yves is a truly unique character. Behind his chauvinistic exterior and gruff exterior lies a genuinely kind person with a true passion for his work. Between his humor, his straightforward manner, and his warm welcome, he contributes entirely to the restaurant's charm. A personality like no other, which makes the experience even more memorable. So go there without preconceptions or judgment, but rather to step outside your comfort zone and try new things. Finally, everything is delicious, generous portions, and the prices are reasonable. If I had the chance to be in Gresse-en-Vercors year-round, I would eat at Yves's several times a week without hesitation.
