On a slow day the kitchen was about to close when we arrived. However, as we almost departed with broken heart and rumbling belly, they kindly offered to cook for us anyway. We ordered the salmon filet and the snails, and were met with the most buttery and tender fish, and the most flavorful and savory snails we have ever encountered. The staff was wonderful and friendly, even though communication was hard, as they do not speak English. At the very end, the chef himself, a wonderful older gentleman, came out to greet us and give us our check. All in all a beautiful establishment, in the midst of the idyllic French countryside with most excellent food!

My husband made a surprise reservation at this charming, timeless little inn. I was quite surprised by the place when I arrived, but we had an exceptional evening. The owner took excellent care of us from beginning to end of the meal (I was particularly charmed by this lovely gentleman), and what can I say about the food? Delicious! High-quality ingredients cooked with incredible skill. Respect, sir, and thank you again for the glass of champagne at the end of the meal! 🥰

Excellent traditional cuisine, generous portions, warm atmosphere, good value for money. Very friendly owners, they even offered us champagne.

What a delightful surprise this very "vintage" restaurant was! I was taken by friends last week, and I was thrilled! Arlette, the 79-year-old owner, is a charming lady who has been running this restaurant for quite some time... A complete change of scenery is guaranteed, a real step back in time; it's a restaurant like few others. You truly feel like you're in one of those 60s films with Jean Gabin, Paul Belmondo, or Lino Ventura... The tables are beautifully set with real fabrics and placemats, like a special occasion. You can enjoy all sorts of old-fashioned cocktails, like the "Pim's" (with champagne and cherries marinated in brandy), which Arlette knows how to make perfectly. The cuisine is typically French and home-style, with dishes you won't find anywhere else. Rabbit, sweetbreads, veal kidneys, escalope Thiérache-style, homemade foie gras, and other traditional dishes simmered by Philippe, the 65-year-old chef. The desserts are just as excellent as the rest of the menu, not to mention the selection of fine vintage wines at very reasonable prices. This delightfully vintage restaurant, serving authentic French home cooking, is well worth a visit; I assure you, it's worth the trip! It's a welcome change from today's chain restaurants! I recommend making a reservation before you come.

An hour from home, a somewhat random reservation, but a truly superb find. A restaurant like you hardly ever see anymore. The owners have undoubtedly nothing left to prove and could be retired. If they continue, it's surely out of love for their craft, and that comes through in the atmosphere and especially on the plate. Old-fashioned cuisine in the best sense of the word, but not only that: the ingredients are high-quality and superbly prepared. A cuisine you don't find every day, thank you.
