Le Malassis sur Perpignan

A pleasant bistro located right in the city center near the Castillet. You can have a coffee on a small terrace. Friendly service, reasonable prices for the area. However, when the avenue is congested, you're inhaling a lot of exhaust fumes. So it's best to go in the morning; it allows for a pleasant break before starting your day.

We had a wonderful lunch here on Tuesday the 27th. The duck was sublime. The Catalan sausages and chips were delicious, and the aioli was magnificent. I highly recommend it.

I didn't know how many stars to give. The sign outside indicated a €6 croque-monsieur for lunch. I went in thinking it was a good opportunity to grab something simple, inexpensive, and quick before going to the movies. It was like a movie night before the movie... Once inside, after I was seated, the waitress (owner?) told me that the €6 croque-monsieur was for afternoon snacks and that I should order the croque-monsieur with fries and salad (which I took to mean croque-monsieur with a small salad). A little taken aback, I said okay. It bothered me... I politely kept quiet (I should have left). I didn't eat everything, and the fries didn't appeal to me, obviously. When I left, the sign clearly displayed the same €6 croque-monsieur for the lunch menu. I live in Argelès, I often come to Perpignan, and I don't appreciate being taken for a fool like this. It's a complete rip-off in my opinion, and I won't set foot in there again, not even for a glass of water! Shameful!!

Very good, very warm welcome, excellent service, a place discovered by chance – in short, you feel good there and the food is great :) Give it a try!

We stopped there before going to the dentist and found a very warm welcome. We had pork spiders, they were cooked divinely. Thank you for our next dentist appointment. We will stop again.
