A very good restaurant specializing in fish. Homemade food in a lovely setting that deserves to be better known.

Exquisite and top-notch service

The tagliatelle and clams dish: lots of cockles and not enough clams.

This was our favourite restaurant in a two week stay in Sète, and we liked it so much we went back a second time. It doesn’t look much at first sight - situated at the end of a long strip of superficially similar looking tourist focused restaurants along the side of the main canal- but in fact it is a bit of an institution that has been going for 20 years and is always busy with locals. It serves very high quality food with a strong focus on fish and seafood, but the best thing is the value for money offers by the set ‘formula’ menus which offer three courses, each with quite a lot of choice, for €35, 29 and 25. We had the most expensive one and also the cheapest one and both were absolutely fantastic. Every course delicious and truly astonishing value. Stuffed mussels! I'm a huge fan of this dish, and at Montecristo it's the absolute best. Truly magnificent, bravo!

We loved the food! Everything. I selected summer set menu took oysters for starters then muscle leek sauce in oven and dessert. To share we took octopus potato salad, so yummy! I also loved the olives .. was great evening with mount and tummy satisfying food , so recommended
