The place was very pleasant. The service was almost unpleasant. The meal was unpretentious. As someone who enjoys good food and convivial places, I was particularly disappointed. First, there was a clear lack of effort to seat people properly despite their requests, the available space (the restaurant was only half full), and a reservation. Second, a waitress who seemed annoyed with her job, and the service was EXTREMELY SLOW!!! It took an hour to receive our starters. The meal was very basic, lacking any particular flair or refinement. Flavors were absent from every dish. A shame.

Overall, a wonderful experience in a beautiful setting with a table on the terrace overlooking the Charente River! There was a bit of a wait to be served, but overall the food was good. We'll be back!

A charming setting that somewhat makes you forget the elaborate but bland cuisine.
Our starter was a mousse with a faint taste of goat cheese in a mass-produced choux pastry. A shame. The filet mignon was beautifully presented and tasty. Service was quick, as we were heading back to Le Palissy afterwards. The value for money isn't there.
