Beautiful setting on the banks of the Charente, ideal for a relaxing meal. Nice traditional cuisine, pleasant service. A minor drawback: sometimes a slightly long wait and inconsistent dishes.

We celebrated my wife's birthday this past Saturday, December 6th. There were 16 of us. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the initial contact to the event itself. The food was unanimously appreciated, and the quality of the service, both discreet and efficient, sealed the deal for us. As an added bonus, since we wanted to organize a karaoke session, the establishment kindly provided us with a video projector and screen free of charge. Thank you for this wonderful service.

It dates from the 17th century. A visit to this monument and its surroundings is highly recommended for a weekend. A beautiful site to discover, I recommend it.

Restaurant in an old mill, where you can eat by the Charente River. Don't hesitate to book, the restaurant was full this lunchtime 🕛 The menu is very reasonably priced and the ingredients are fresh! The service is efficient despite the crowds! I recommend it ✨

Came for a wedding. This is the first time I've discovered this restaurant. Apparently it's a well-known address given the number of people seated on the very large terrace the next Sunday at noon. As for the meal and the wedding evening, they did their job. Not exceptional but well served and quality on the plate. On the other hand, I find it regrettable to see service staff dressed in jeans and t-shirts. A little sprucing up wouldn't hurt, especially on the steps leading to the upstairs room when leaving the kitchen, which are not very clean, and in the toilets.

22/01/2026: Decent meal, reasonable price 19 euros for starter, main course, dessert.
11/01/2026: Between Saintes and Cognac, dare to stop by! Perfect cuisine! Delicious and generous foie gras with little touches to discover. We went for the kidneys (cooked to order, pink in the center for me) and the sweetbreads (divine and very generous). And then the revisited Black Forest cake, perfect after this wonderful meal. Not forgetting the perfectly smooth coffee. Bravo and thank you!

14/03/2026: This establishment may seem modest at first glance, but it offers professional and high-quality service. The welcome is pleasant, and the managers are approachable and helpful. The menu includes a buffet, appetizers and desserts, and a selection of cooked dishes. It's a very nice, roadside diner-style option where you eat simply, but well and in generous portions. Don't hesitate to stop by and get to know the managers and the menu, a type of place that's becoming increasingly rare.
22/12/2025: A nice little coffee early in the morning served by Benoît. Pleasant. Friendly customer. Warmly received on our way to Marennes-Oléron.
