Le Moulin de Ponceau sur Chartres

We had a wonderful culinary evening in a warm and inviting setting. The spacing between tables was very pleasant, and the round tables were ideal for six people. The cuisine was refined and a welcome change from the ordinary. The only drawback was the limited menu, aside from the vegetarian option. While the restaurant manager did explain this, an additional dish would have been appreciated, especially if we plan to return. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to discover Chartres, a beautifully presented historic city.

No need for a Michelin guide to have a remarkable lunch in Chartres. The setting is superb, the service discreet and efficient, but above all, the cuisine is remarkable, a blend of classic and modern... a mushroom platter with different textures, beef in a revisited pot-au-feu style, fish, and a beetroot variation (splendid).... A six-course menu better than many Michelin-starred restaurants.

In an enchanting setting, along the banks of the Eure River, we had a wonderful time thanks to the tasting menu which delighted our taste buds with every bite. The service and welcome were perfect. A truly wonderful discovery; I recommend it 200%!

Yesterday, my wife and I shared an absolutely memorable lunch at Moulin de Ponceau. Everything came together to make it a truly enchanting experience. Thank you to Stéphane and his team for this wonderful moment. The setting: simply sublime. Lunching in such an environment, with its historical charm and soothing view, is a rare privilege. The welcome: a huge thank you to the team. The staff is incredibly attentive, constantly thoughtful, and their friendliness immediately puts you at ease. You can feel their genuine desire to please. The food: flawless. Special mention, and what a highlight!, for the beef pot-au-feu. A masterful execution, incredibly tender, a pure delight that awakens the taste buds. This is a rare find where the excellence of the service rivals the quality of the food. We left completely won over and will return with immense pleasure. An experience not to be missed!

A delightful surprise for an unstarred restaurant. Personally, I'd say it's just a hair's breadth away from a Michelin star. The waiter was very pleasant, the cuisine classic and excellent without any frills, getting straight to the point. The wine list is small but nice, and the atmosphere is seriously excellent. It's a cozy place. Well worth a culinary detour. The terrace overlooking the Eure River is lovely in the spring; definitely worth trying when the weather is nice.
