A hidden gem in an enchanting setting on the banks of the Aveyron River. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty of the place, peaceful and elegant, perfectly in harmony with the surrounding nature. But the magic doesn't end with the decor. In the kitchen, it's flawless. Each dish demonstrates remarkable skill and finesse. The fish, delicately prepared, was simply sublime, revealing flavors of rare precision. The tender beef fillet won over meat lovers, while the perfectly executed foie gras delighted our palates. A complete gastronomic experience, where every guest found something to enjoy.

We have often come to Moulin de Varen. It's a peaceful place with a magnificent terrace. The food is excellent and creative, and the welcome is warm.

What a lovely evening! The four of us enjoyed our dinner on the terrace immensely. As always, the service was wonderful, being very attentive to a serious dietary restriction. The meal was fabulous—perfectly proportioned, pretty, and absolutely delicious. We couldn’t have been happier. Thank you!!

Another visit, this time for the lunch menu. The food is always delightful. Fresh asparagus terrine, a beautiful fish dish with inventive leeks wrapped in nori which looked so artistic and tasted wonderful. Dessert in-season pears in red wine with a refreshing sorbet. The food is elegant and beautiful and made with such care and attention to detail. An elevated dining experience. This level of food requires time, imagination and extensive knowledge. I have to go to this exquisite restaurant every time I travel to France to visit friends. This was the fourth or fifth time and it never disappoints. Situated by the river in a quiet position it is simply perfect. The service is warm and friendly and the owners delightful. But what sets it apart is the delicious and beautifully presented food. All elements complimenting each other in both taste and appearance. I cannot wait to return next time I am in France.

Excellent restaurant, with refined dishes, a varied and seasonal menu, local ingredients, and original recipes. The only slight drawback is that the complexity and balance of the dishes can sometimes be uneven from one course to another (for example, between vegetarian and meat dishes). It's possible to dine overlooking the Tarn River, either inside or on the terrace, depending on the weather.
