Le Paprika sur Chalons-En-Champagne

Stayed near Chalon sur Champagne on way north from Provence to Calais - last meal of the holiday. What a brilliant find...amazing food, attentive service, great value, good selection / range of dishes.

Friendly welcome, quick service. We had excellent beef skewers, cooked exactly as we requested. A nice little brasserie, especially since there's only fast food nearby.

Look at the previous reviews, which are more than positive, and well deserved. We're not from the area, but about fifteen years ago, we stopped here and enjoyed our stay in this quiet and welcoming establishment. Even then, the owners were accommodating and helpful. It's located near a supermarket, which means you can easily find parking. Some might say it's just a bar, it's too expensive... but just look at the food! On July 8, 2026, we had an Italian salad combining mixed greens with melon and watermelon balls, etc., not forgetting the Burrata mozzarella (nothing like a 'regular' mozzarella) and Aosta ham (not some cheap smoked product...). And for dessert? A gourmet coffee. So, usually, it comes with three measly little treats from the freezer... but not this time, they're homemade too, with delicious local strawberries, nothing like the tasteless ones from Spain... The waitress was fantastic, nothing to complain about, simply perfect.

Great restaurant. Excellent service. We had a fantastic meal. Chicken with morel sauce and fries, and a raspberry macaron. Oh, don't hesitate, go!
