I think recent reviews are rather unfair and glad I didn't base my decision to dine here on them. We've just had a really lovely lunch, good service (yes it appears only one waitress but she is very competent!), excellent local dishes and wine. The terrace is shaded and a perfect spot for an afternoon meal. Can't fault it at all actually.

Disappointed with our last visit.
The dishes, which were so beautifully presented, are no longer what they used to be.
Several items listed on the menu were missing.
The waitress was overwhelmed, working alone, but nonetheless competent; she did her best, poor thing, and was running around everywhere. Foie gras as a starter—where was the little brioche? We waited 20 minutes for bread before we could eat it.
The main course lacked a side dish.
Four desserts were offered, but two were unavailable.
Not sure we'll return.
One of the wines we chose was also unavailable.
No compensation was offered.

The food was absolutely nothing special. Plain asparagus with an unsuitable sauce. The appetizer was also rather mediocre: onion tart with an almost stale salad. And then there was that ice cream that tasted like sake or something similar. The asparagus was edible, but I left the ice cream untouched, as you can see in the photo. The service was extremely attentive and always available – no question about that. Everything else was rather lacking. I can't agree with the previous positive reviews.

French duck is a bit tough, with a wild and grainy texture.
The cooking and sauce were good, though.
Why is that? It wasn't very tasty.
It was completely different from the fatty yet delicately tender duck we eat in Japan.
I feel it's a problem with the ingredients, but I can't help but feel disappointed.
The staff were very service-oriented and always smiling.

A real treat! Beautiful setting in a beautifully renovated old house by a very talented architect, very pleasant and friendly service. Perfect from start to finish, with a refined approach to flavors. The four wines paired with the menu were delicious and matched perfectly with the foie gras, fish, meat, and dessert. We will gladly return to Le Pavillon Gourmand.
