Le Perigny sur Vouille

Our stay was a Wonderbox gift, and we spent one night at the Château de Périgny. The room was magnificent and very clean, with furniture perfectly in keeping with the château theme; we really appreciated the decor. The staff was very welcoming, attentive, and professional. The receptionist kindly lent me a toothbrush I had forgotten. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. A big plus: The swimming pool looked very inviting, although we didn't have time to use it. The hotel is dog-friendly. Three cats also live there permanently and will be delighted to greet you with purrs. A drawback: We had twin beds pushed together, which wasn't very practical. Breakfast was very good, but a bit pricey for what it was.

Overall, a good experience with the dinner and overnight package. The restaurant is very good. The rooms in the castle are adequate, but the interiors feel dated and poorly maintained. It also lacks quite a few small amenities that are standard in other hotels.

We booked two nights through Smartbox. The castle's location is lovely (quiet and green), however, the grounds are poorly maintained (unkempt grass, a completely neglected tennis court with dilapidated nets, chairs swung across the courts, and surfaces barely playable). The swimming pool was closed despite no opening or closing dates being provided. There was a ping-pong table, but two balls were broken. In the reception area, cats roam around as if they own the place, sleeping on the sofas, and their food bowls are even on the tables! (This is unusual considering the restaurant is in the same room, just a few steps down.) The furniture appears to be period pieces, as it is old and not very clean. We had a room in the "castle" section, which had two large wasp nests at each end (making it impossible to open the windows in those areas). The castle entrance is a bit run-down, with a rather dirty sofa in the hall. The room itself is small, basic, and very poorly soundproofed. We could hear the shower water from the upstairs neighbors running through the pipes, and their movements in their room! Apart from the renovated bathroom (despite the rusted and green toilet cistern!), the rest was frankly not great. A desk that could use a fresh coat of paint, a dirty pillowcase, stained towels, live bedbugs on the carpet, and the dust and grime were unbearable! Hygiene and cleanliness are clearly not a priority... based on the reviews, we didn't dare try the restaurant. Breakfast was decent, with both sweet and savory options. Disappointing because it bears no resemblance to what you find on the internet.

A warm welcome, a beautiful and peaceful setting, and the swimming pool is a real bonus on sunny days, as it's not heated but still very pleasant to be able to use. Breakfast is good. We will gladly return.

A pleasant stay at Château de Périgny! Check-in and check-out were brief but efficient, and the breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and clean, and the château is well-located in a peaceful rural setting. However, the constant dripping of water in the room and an appliance that switched on several times during the night were disruptive. Nevertheless, we will remember this experience as a pleasant stopover in a truly charming setting within a building full of character.

A peaceful and charming place with a pleasant welcome. The rooms are small but functional. The dinner is well-prepared and reasonably priced, but the portion sizes could perhaps be improved.

We discovered Château de Périgny this weekend through a Smartbox gift voucher. We had a wonderful time in a large room with a small terrace overlooking the pond. A cot was provided free of charge for our daughter. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious; you're treated like royalty, and the staff is incredibly attentive! The breakfast is generous with a variety of products, including homemade items, and both sweet and savory options are sure to please. The setting is peaceful and relaxing.
