Le Perigny sur Vouille

Thanks to a gift box, we enjoyed dinner and two nights in a lovely setting. From receiving the keys to checking out, everything was perfect. The meal was exquisite, the breakfasts were generous, and the quiet room was so peaceful we slept like logs. I highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful time at Château de Périgny to celebrate our wedding. A magnificent place. The staff were attentive and caring. The rooms were renovated and clean. The cocktail hour, the meal, and the brunch were all excellent.

Being invited to lunch at the Château de Périgny evokes a festive occasion where no expense is spared. The first disappointments are a completely broken entrance lamppost dangling precariously from its pole, and a chaotic parking lot where cars are parked haphazardly. Having gotten past these surprises, we head towards the entrance to reach the Guard Room, located in the basement. There, you need to be quite adept at solving puzzles to find the unmarked entrance: you climb three steps, turn left, then right, descend more steps, go outside, and then re-enter. Certainly a labyrinth designed to whet the guest's appetite. On the menu for our diners: a delightful carrot amuse-bouche, duck foie gras flavored with Armagnac to be enjoyed with sweet and sour vegetables and artichoke cream, followed by a veal medallion with cashew nuts (which would have benefited from being served on a warmer plate), a selection of matured cheeses with homemade walnut bread, and to conclude this superb meal, a coffee tiramisu with candied oranges, served with banana carpaccio and bitter almond milk. In short, the menu was impeccable, accompanied by fine wines from a renowned cellar. Kudos to the chef for the subtle marriage of flavors and the originality of his creations. The only minor criticisms concerned the surroundings: a slight odor of perspiration from some of the servers, and a chilly atmosphere despite the heating being on. However, the Château de Perigny is an exceptional place that deserves to be rediscovered under a bright sun to enjoy the outdoor pool and its beautiful sunny terrace.

We had lunch there today. A very warm welcome, a lovely setting, the restaurant itself is superb. As for lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed it – a feast for the eyes and the palate. The waitresses were delightful. The outdoor area is also very pretty. Thank you all.

The castle is in a beautiful setting with a lovely park where you can stroll peacefully. The restaurant is worth a visit, with excellent service and food. Unfortunately, the entire property is in need of renovation and a thorough cleaning from floor to ceiling. We imagine this comes at a cost, but for €80 a night in our case, it's a bit expensive and a bit outdated for the standard room.

Our stay was a Wonderbox gift, and we spent one night at the Château de Périgny. The room was magnificent and very clean, with furniture perfectly in keeping with the château theme; we really appreciated the decor. The staff was very welcoming, attentive, and professional. The receptionist kindly lent me a toothbrush I had forgotten. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. A big plus: The swimming pool looked very inviting, although we didn't have time to use it. The hotel is dog-friendly. Three cats also live there permanently and will be delighted to greet you with purrs. A drawback: We had twin beds pushed together, which wasn't very practical. Breakfast was very good, but a bit pricey for what it was.

Overall, a good experience with the dinner and overnight package. The restaurant is very good. The rooms in the castle are adequate, but the interiors feel dated and poorly maintained. It also lacks quite a few small amenities that are standard in other hotels.
