Le Petit Baigneur sur Cayeux-Sur-Mer

A very pleasant discovery, friendly staff and quality cuisine, I highly recommend it 👍

We stumbled into this restaurant by chance (luckily we arrived right when it opened). We had a wonderful time. We ate in the indoor terrace area. The waiter was very pleasant and attentive. The meal was excellent.

The Moules Frites were perfect, as was the friendly service.

Despite a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, we were rather disappointed by the meal. A minor hiccup to start with: our glasses of white wine arrived before we'd finished our aperitifs. A nice touch: complimentary toasts as an amuse-bouche. It's a shame the bread was stale. As for the turbot and sea bass duo: at €31, the fish was very good, but the sauce, which looked amazing on the menu, was rather thin on the plate. And the accompanying potatoes were dry. So, overall, it seemed a bit overpriced. We're not sure we'll be back.

There were four of us, and it was the reviews that led us to choose this place. We ordered four different mussels, all of which were very, very good. The fairly thick sauce coated all the mussels well from start to finish. We appreciated the wide variety of options, some of which were quite original and even surprising. As for the desserts, we think they could use a little improvement. Specifically, the chocolate cream on a bed of cream flavored with pear liqueur: either we don't have a refined enough palate to detect the liqueur, or the chef was too light-handed—we all agree. A suggestion, if I may, might be to marinate very small pieces of pear in the liqueur and then incorporate them into the cream. Similarly, the crème brûlée wasn't flavorful enough; it could either be served plain, or the chef should use a generous amount of Bénédictine liqueur. The puff pastry with cream was excellent. A 5/5 for the waiter, who was affable and smiling. He chatted with us for a few minutes, sharing interesting information, and even laughed at our humor. A charming young man and impeccable service. We highly recommend this establishment.

A very good restaurant in Cayeux, well located. The menu is limited, but the ingredients are fresh. The mussels marinière were delicious, and the fresh fries were excellent. I've never had such a good ficelle picarde. The fish soup was a hit with everyone at the table. The cod fillet was a little less impressive; the rice was burnt and tough, and the fish was tough on top. The service was very friendly and efficient. We dined at the window, overlooking the beach huts 😉. Reservations are essential. Ordering a starter and main course à la carte is more expensive than the €32 three-course set menu, which is odd, but there isn't a two-course option.

An excellent restaurant in Cayeux-sur-Mer! We had a very pleasant time at Le Petit Baigneur. The welcome was warm, the staff were friendly, attentive, and very professional. The dishes were delicious, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Special mention goes to the mussels, which were perfectly cooked. The setting is pleasant and the atmosphere convivial. Excellent value for money. We will gladly return and highly recommend this restaurant!

Simply perfect, great welcome, very good food, it's best to book but I recommend it 200%!
