Very good restaurant, pleasant staff

The setting is nice, the servers pleasant, the frogs good but the price is excessive considering the quantity served. We came out of this restaurant hungry. 30 euros per person for plates of frogs accompanied by a few potatoes. This discouraged us from having desserts. Too bad because the food is pretty good but we won't go back there. Too many restaurants nearby with more respectable value for money.

I was disappointed, the fried food was delicious but just as a starter... small quantity. The tartar was not one! And the dessert, peach soup without any taste... The pleasant setting but too bad it was raining.

Magnificent setting, excellent welcome and delicious meals

Like every year, the restaurant at the port of By by Chez Cécile has just opened its doors with the nice weather. The view of the Saône and the large terrace under the mulberry trees make this place an ideal location for relaxing and, above all, eating. Indeed, the menu is short but that's good, everything is delicious here and apart from the essentials (snails, small Saône fries, etc.) the menu offers new items every year on their menu. For my part it was a starter of burnt leek, cecina, grilled almonds, faitselle, green leek oil: very well presented and really very good. Then as a main course a nicely browned poultry ballotine, accompanied by various fried mushrooms, new potatoes: the ballotine was perfectly cooked, very juicy and the potatoes were tender, nothing to say! To finish, the creamy chocolate on a crunchy chocolate (like a crumble) with the melting caramel at the bottom was perfect. There was an association with small artichoke chips but that, for once, didn't add much to my taste. As for drinks, the wine list is very local and thoroughly Beaujolais oriented, with very nice affordable references. We chose a Saint-Amour from Bret Brothers which was light and excellent with our dishes. Port de By by chez Cécile is a very good address in my region and you will enjoy yourself while forgetting the stress of everyday life. We will come back again and again!!
