Le Quattrocento sur Ceret

Great restaurant on a charming little square, the service is friendly and unpretentious. The dishes are good quality for the price, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We stayed in an apartment above the square at the end of August and we looked out onto the square, the fountain and the restaurants. This one was continuously busy at lunch and on an evening and we ate here three times. The staff were friendly and attentive (especially Charlotte who was very helpful with the menu despite limited English). The food was very enjoyable, lovely tagliatelle and steak and the wine was the most reasonably priced in the square.

A very good experience in Céret. Located on a lovely, car-free square. The menu is interesting, concise, and features well-prepared and delicious local dishes. The pizzas are equally impressive, a good size, and very generously topped. A Tinto de Verano aperitif, a half-liter of local red wine, efficient and quick service—what more could you ask for? Highly recommended!

Update: We went back last night at my husband's request, and this time, the service was impeccable! We were served by a young waitress with long, wavy, light hair who was truly professional, quick, smiling, and polite. She was very attentive, and her professionalism clearly made all the difference. I wanted to add this to my previous review because when service is impeccable, it's important to acknowledge it. Thank you to her! ⭐⭐⭐ Two completely different experiences… We went to Quattrocento twice, and unfortunately, the difference between the two evenings was quite striking. Tuesday evening, no complaints! The owner was there, and the service was quick and efficient. We were served by a young woman with glasses who was very responsive and pleasant. The pizzas were good, and the salad was generous. We were delighted and thought we had found a great place. Friday evening, a big disappointment. The owner was absent, and we were served by a tall young man. He was friendly, but sorely lacking in attentiveness and engagement with the customers. The surrounding tables hadn't been cleared, despite the passing time, and two and a half hours for three people is far too long. When it came time to pay, he didn't even have the bill and claimed not to remember having served us… Such a lack of attention and follow-through is unprecedented for us. As for the food, my pizza was particularly bland: I had to add salt and pepper, a first for me in a restaurant. The Dame Blanche (vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce) was also very disappointing. It's a real shame, because our first experience had made us want to return. But with such a difference between the two evenings, we're now hesitant to try it again.

Great place, the food is excellent, the servers are very kind and pleasant, as are the owners. This is my third time here; it's becoming a real pilgrimage.
