Le Relais des Thermes sur Amelie-Les-Bains-Palalda

A wonderful discovery, this little bistro, located right next to the thermal baths. Behind the restaurant, a shaded terrace offers welcome respite during the heat of summer. We enjoyed a very generous portion of homemade couscous. The lamb shank was delicious. Excellent value for money. A must-try! Reservations are recommended.

The people here were so lovely to me. I had just arrived in Amelie, was dragging all of my luggage up the hill, and my stomach was screaming with hunger. They spoke no English, and I no French or Catalán, but through gestures and translation on our phones, they managed to offer me some stuffed squid, which I happily accepted and enjoyed. I think I'll always remember that warm welcome very fondly when I think back on my week in Amelie.
