Le Relais Saint-Michel sur Pontorson

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the lady who manages the hotel restaurant. She was very attentive to us on both evenings we visited. She and her team ensured we had two very enjoyable evenings. The food and presentation were excellent. The lamb, in particular, is a must-try.

An exceptional place. A refined lunch, not a single false note in this olfactory, gustatory, and qualitative symphony. The conductor and his musicians are perfect. Congratulations. Fabrice.

Great location, we had a lovely couple of days here. The staff couldn’t do enough for service and looking after you. Food is delicious too, highly recommend!

The staff were lovely. The kitchen prepared a superbly crafted vegan menu especially for us. It was delicious! The rooms were clean and very spacious. The location is ideal.

The room had a direct view of Mont-Saint-Michel and the bay. It was especially beautiful in the early morning. Spacious, warm, clean, with a large terrace and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Waking up and seeing the abbey right outside the window was unforgettable. Breakfast was fresh and varied, served in a restaurant with panoramic windows. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was calm. The shuttle stops right at the entrance and runs every 12 minutes until 10 PM. If you miss it, you can walk, but it’s dark at night so better plan ahead.

The hotel is in a prime location, but the rooms are quite dark. The bed is comfortable, but they should add a pillow menu. The shower is good. The staff are polite but not very enthusiastic, except for the waiter who served us at dinner. It's a shame I don't know his name; he was incredibly attentive and friendly. The breakfast is a bit limited for a hotel of this category.

As with any hotel, there are pros and cons. We stayed for a romantic weekend getaway. Pros: • Very welcoming staff • Hotel restaurant: excellent from start to finish • Room with a beautiful view of Mont-Saint-Michel • Large, spacious room • Comfortable bedding Cons: • The advertised reputation and level of luxury are, in my opinion, unjustified • Upon arrival, there was a used bandage in the bathroom, on the bathtub • Damaged bathroom grout: some is missing, others are blackened in several places • Several stains visible on the carpet and shelves, indicating general wear and tear • Poorly maintained outdoor terrace: moss and damaged furniture In summary: A friendly hotel with an absolutely incredible view of Mont-Saint-Michel. However, the furniture and some of the fixtures seem to date back to the 1990s, which gives an impression of being outdated and is not in line with the price paid. In my opinion, a 4-star hotel should be impeccable, which is unfortunately not the case here.
