This place is warm and friendly and what can I say about Lahcen, the owner of this restaurant, a learned, affable and very pleasant man. Thank you, Lahcen for your welcome and your tasty dishes and your equally tasty mint tea.

Excellent dishes (special mention to the candied lemon tagines) and a super friendly atmosphere, with an adorable manager who generously shares his “kills”. To try !

Some even call it killing! Lahcen is a wonderful person who makes you feel what the word welcome means deep in your soul. The tagines are delicious, the couscous semolina is divine (the best in Toulouse for me), the teas perfect and the drinks made to order. And the best: the cakes. All of them are incredible.

Eating at “Safran” is like being invited to the house of the man who runs the restaurant. There is a real feeling of closeness and warmth that cannot be found anywhere else. To give you an idea, we tried to come and eat in the evening a month ago but I misread the timetable and we came at closing time. Despite this, the owner offered us a gazelle horn for our trouble. All dishes are vegetarian. Me and my partner were able to eat the pea tagine and the sweet potato/pear tagine. It was tasty and all the more delicious as the flavors of the dishes were mastered. The deserts are varied and succulent. In short, I advise you to stop by this restaurant. I hope this will be as much a pleasure for you as it was for me.

The kindness and welcome of the owner is incredible, however it is a tea room, it is not a restaurant, there are no dishes cooked on site. The vegetable couscous is good but poor in ingredients, the 12 euros are excessive considering that. We must also review hygiene and the use of gloves; these same gloves cannot cook, touch the telephone or give change. They are not used to protect hands but to avoid cross contamination...
