Le Saint OG sur Vallon-Pont-D'Arc

Beautiful nature reserve! You shouldn't be afraid of heights... I even cycled the Gorges once from Le Gard. Tough (steep slopes) but majestic. In the high season, however, it gets very crowded with tourists who view it more as an amusement park than a nature reserve. A little further south lies the Gard Cévennes, much quieter!!

It's a shame that, like many caves, we had to descend level by level and then climb back up 250 steps all at once. Otherwise, it was magical.

A magnificent place, with incredible natural surroundings. Unfortunately, the first thing you'll hear every morning, from 8:00 AM until 7:30 PM, is the ultralight aircraft and small planes flying over the Pont d'Arc. Their truly unpleasant drone clearly spoils the experience and completely detracts from this exceptional location. How can a handful of people be allowed to ruin the enjoyment of thousands of tourists and locals? I sincerely believe that the town of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and the nature reserve should clearly prohibit this type of activity over this site. Attached is a short excerpt of what you can hear.

A beautiful area. Drove through it today and stopped several times. On the way, at a parking lot, encountered a very aggressive buck who was out for food. Aggressive towards people and stood on the car with his front legs. Despite that, a great day.

Magnificent! I recommend driving the route from upstream to downstream (Vallon-Pont-d'Arc towards Saint-Martin-de-l'Ardèche) early in the morning, around 9 or 10 am. Even at the beginning of August, it's not too crowded. All the viewpoints will be on the right-hand side of the road, making it easier to stop.

A spectacular space, better to go there at times when there aren't too many people.
