Tourism: An unmissable stop, charming welcome, Burgundian cuisine, what a delight.

I came to dinner at Le Saint-Père and, to my great disappointment, I didn't see the sea. It was dark, admittedly, but I still suspect a bit of marketing hype on the welcome sign...😂 Otherwise, no false advertising: a warm welcome, a carafe of water brought immediately, friendly service, and genuinely generous portions. Excellent homemade foie gras, followed by an Angus ribeye that made me realize the chef has a rather personal interpretation of the word "portion." A very fine 500g piece with the bone in... quality meat, perfectly cooked, homemade fries, and a lovely vegetable skewer. The only slight drawback to this otherwise excellent meal was the barbecue/ketchup-style sauce, a bit too bland for my taste to accompany such a beautiful ribeye. Nevertheless, I mustered the heroic will to finish with a strawberry Melba and a good coffee. In short, a great place in Tonnerre: generous, friendly, unpretentious, and with a real sense of humor. I'll be back. Mainly to check if the tide has come in. 🌊😂

Excellent restaurant, generous portions, lovely little outdoor terrace, and welcoming, smiling staff. Definitely worth a return visit.

While on holiday in Tonnerre, we ate at several restaurants in and around the town, and we went to Le Saint Père the day before our departure. It's by far the best restaurant in the area, both for the excellent food and the warm welcome. From the appetizers to the dessert, not to mention the infused rums, everything is a delight. I recommend it 1000%.

A quick stop (get it?) in town, and a visit to this highly-rated restaurant on Google. The atmosphere is definitely warm and welcoming. The wait was moderately long, but very transparent; we were warned beforehand. I appreciate that. The food is home-style, friendly, and the portions are generous. A great time spent here. Looking forward to another visit to grab some amazing Chablis. Of course. 😜
