Far more than just ruins, the remains of this castle tell a rich story in an extraordinary and timeless setting. One can easily imagine life here in another era, always with this breathtaking view of the ria, the foreshore, and other marshy areas that shape a landscape constantly changing with the tides.
A lovely medieval castle, very well maintained. The view from the ramparts is superb. Free entry, fairly large parking area. Take the hiking trail that goes around the castle; the viewpoint is sublime.
