Le XVI sur Paris

30/08/2026: I had the beef tartare and a few cocktails — everything was amazing! Delicious food, beautiful presentation, and a great atmosphere. Absolutely loved it! ❤️

25/08/2026: I've always stayed at Hotel Relais Saint Germain partially to ensure a table at Le Comptoir. However since Yves Camdeborde has sold (2021) it's now much more of a casual Parisian bistro catering to a largely tourist clientele - rather than the edgy dining experience it once was. And that's fine - it's changed direction and it's doing what it does well. A welcome glass of wine and plate of excellent cold cuts, pickles, bread and butter appeared on the table as we sat down and was appreciated. French onion soup was good, as was the eggs mayonnaise with pickled onion, crunchy deep-fried shallots and spicy nasturtium leaves scattered over them. The croquettes Monsieur was Ok without being memorable - as was a frisée salad. A large, perfectly textured creamy creme caramel - with the caramel deliciously bitter - was a memorable finish. Great service, generous portion sizes and very fair pricing.
