A wonderful discovery, a lovely spot to stop and enjoy the cool shade along the ramparts. The welcome was very warm and the service excellent; don't be in too much of a hurry, as the dishes are prepared one after the other! Everything was delicious: it was too hot for the daube (their signature dish)!, but the beef carpaccio, served in a very generous portion, and the delicious homemade tarts were perfect.

We had a wonderful family lunch at L'Echauguette, in a charming setting on the main square of Oppède-le-Vieux. The food was simple yet delicious: chicken with olives and a delightful ratatouille. Special mention goes to the desserts, especially the strawberry charlotte! We'll be back.
