What good is the excuse that I didn't mean to serve you a leg of lamb so tough and firm as to be inedible? The waiter inquired whether I was satisfied, proof, if any were needed, of a doubt tinged with concern. My plate was left practically untouched, and I was offered a gesture of goodwill (a free dessert). So be it! Moral of the story: when you know the origin of meat (Ireland), you don't compromise on quality, and you don't serve meat that falls short of this standard out of respect for the customer.

The old-fashioned way, just the way I like it.

It was perfect! Service starts at noon. There were two of us. We had Cancale oysters and a charcuterie board as starters. Tripoux and a rare flank steak were paired with a very pleasant Saint-Pourçain wine (it's lighter at lunchtime). The service was very attentive and friendly; we never had to ask for bread or water. Even though the restaurant was packed, we understand why! Even the coffees were good. True professionals, which are becoming increasingly rare. The menu features a wide variety of local products. The prices are reasonable; we ordered wine twice. I don't understand the average rating, which is close to 4 stars? One reviewer ordered a Caesar salad and chicken. Well, in an Auvergne restaurant, that raises some questions.

We have a great time every time we go! It's delicious! Wide selection of dishes. It's quiet! The staff is very good: helpful, polite, with a touch of humor. We enjoy going there every time.
