A magnificent space full of color and delight. However, the proliferation of shops is problematic.

The city of Arles is amazing. It breathes art.

When you are in Arles, you cannot miss it. Alongside the beautiful remnants of the Roman Empire, the city breathes Vincent Van Gogh. Then you definitely must see this! It is not to be missed, however, making a special detour just for it is just a little too little!

Calm and beautifully maintained space. Great for sitting and reflecting on Van Gogh's time in Arles. They have kept the courtyard similar to how it looks in his paintings so it feels familiar to those who have seen his work. The kids loved being in the space too.

It's a large, shaded cloister in the former psychiatric hospital building. There are a few places to eat under the porticoes.

Color, light, garden! Easily reachable on foot in the old town. Don't try to drive here. Parking is extremely scarce! Admittedly, the courtyard is full of tourists. But you're usually a tourist yourself. Besides, the vibrant atmosphere, the quiet bustle, the colorfulness—that's a big part of its charm. Recommendations: First, visit the souvenir shop featuring von Gogh. Then go to the center, sit on a bench, and let the garden and the shops work their magic from a distance. Pay close attention to the light and colors. Afterward, visit one of the cafés and enjoy the different perspective. Finally, take the elevator or stairs to the upper floor and admire everything from there. Take your time!
