Spacious and comfortable room, very nice hotel, excellent restaurant with some great discoveries, impeccable room service, the children were delighted, and the staff were truly very pleasant. And being able to step directly from the hotel to the beach is fantastic.

A magnificent hotel by the sea, with impeccable rooms and bedding. A varied breakfast and a very warm welcome from the reception staff. We also enjoyed the facial massage in the wellness area.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, with lovely sea views, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast with a sea view, spacious and comfortable rooms. Parking is available, but it's easy to find a spot at this time of year.

A pleasant moment befitting the place

We had lunch during a weekend at the gourmet restaurant Le Balbec, located within the Grand Hôtel de Cabourg. The setting is absolutely sublime. The Grand Hôtel is steeped in history and intimately linked to Marcel Proust, who stayed there regularly. He found inspiration for his work, In Search of Lost Time, there and drew directly from Cabourg to imagine the famous fictional seaside resort of Balbec in his novel. Even today, one can still feel something of that literary and timeless atmosphere in this hotel. The welcome is, of course, exactly what one would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Everything is extremely professional, very attentive, impeccable. Perhaps even a little too much so at times. In my opinion, luxury hotels today would benefit from a slightly more relaxed approach; everything is very polite, very codified, almost a little obsequious at times. One sometimes wishes for a more natural service, while still maintaining, of course, the level of excellence expected in a palace. On the restaurant side, the experience at the Balbec is remarkable. The cuisine is refined, the gastronomic offerings expertly crafted, and the sea view is simply incredible. We were also there during the off-season, which made the experience even more pleasant and peaceful. However, I would like to point out an issue that concerns the hotel's organization rather than the restaurant. Access to the restrooms is via coded doors, which is frankly incomprehensible in an establishment of this caliber. The system is poorly indicated, not very intuitive, and many people, particularly older guests, find themselves not knowing how to open the doors. We even ended up helping people ourselves. For a hotel of this reputation, this is truly surprising and quite a deal-breaker in terms of the guest experience. Aside from this point, lunch at the Balbec remains a truly wonderful gastronomic experience in a legendary location overlooking the sea.

Incredible location overlooking the main beach, magnificent building steeped in history. However, for a 5-star hotel, I didn't find the service or the rooms exceptional. The bathroom was huge but the bathtub was small, there was no shower, the toilet was in the bathroom, and there was a lot of poorly designed space. The decor was a bit dated. The breakfast was excellent. In short, a very good stay, but nothing spectacular.

Third stay at this superb hotel. Always a warm welcome, very well-equipped and spotless room. The place is relaxing and the staff are incredibly attentive. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. I also enjoyed a wonderful massage at the spa, which was divine. We will definitely be back.

French charm, a magical moment, the view, the staff, the breakfast, everything is delightful, a beautiful reminder of a lighter time.

A must-try! At the restaurant, try the braised beef chuck! Excellent.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Grand Hôtel de Cabourg. The welcome was warm and professional from beginning to end. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always available. The room was elegant, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, with a splendid view that made the experience even more memorable. The setting is exceptional, right on the seafront, ideal for relaxing and fully enjoying your stay. The breakfast was varied and of high quality, with fresh products. I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be back!
