Les Fregates sur Veulettes-Sur-Mer

The restaurant is well located, with a beautiful setting and welcoming and professional staff. The only downside is that the owners let disrespectful young regulars with their phones (loud volume and conversations) spoil the meal for others under the pretext that they think they own the place. It's a shame.

Lunch yesterday at this restaurant, which I've known for a very long time, including when I was a regular under the previous owners. A very warm welcome, excellent cocktails, very fresh seafood, and a superb dessert. The staff were very attentive.

For Valentine's Day, we went to Veulettes because we'd heard good things about it. I looked for a restaurant and booked "Les Frégates" based on the reviews. We didn't regret our choice, even though the sun wasn't shining outside. A very warm welcome, excellent food, and pleasant staff. Furthermore, the Valentine's Day menu wasn't listed for lunch, but it wasn't mentioned on the menu. Since we were the first to arrive, we were treated to it. The menu was more expensive but a real treat (a glass of champagne, foie gras with a very moist homemade gingerbread—even my husband, who doesn't usually like it, loved it—scallops with mushrooms and an excellent sauce, and to finish, a chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis). As our meal progressed, the restaurant filled up. Afterwards, we took a short, windy walk through Veulettes, which is well worth the detour. All this to say that we will definitely return and recommend it. Best wishes to you, and we look forward to seeing you again.

We only tried the restaurant and not the hotel, as we were just passing through Veulettes-sur-Mer. This restaurant perfectly met all our expectations, and it was practically flawless (the only slight drawback: the size of the mussels, which were a bit small this year, and therefore very numerous in the pot, turning the meal into a veritable gastronomic marathon!). We opted for the "Mussels with Camembert" (a must in Normandy!), which were exquisite and served in a very generous portion with fries. The service was impeccable and quick; the waiter was attentive and responsive to our every request. The restaurant's real highlight, however, remains the splendid view of the coastline, while enjoying lunch safely sheltered (as it was very windy and even showed signs of a storm) behind the large windows. An address not to be missed if you are visiting the region...
