Les Relais d'Alsace, France sur Caen

Warm atmosphere, welcoming and professional staff, and good service.

The food was nothing special, the price of soft drinks wasn't displayed (a surprise at the till), a waiter took our order awkwardly and got the side dishes wrong (we were a table of two), offered bread but brought it at the end of the meal, our table wasn't cleared without being offered dessert, and there was still no menu after 10 minutes, even though there were only about fifteen people and three waiters, so they weren't exactly overwhelmed. I don't recommend it.

Excellent lunch at La Taverne! The staff is incredibly attentive from start to finish, making for a very pleasant experience. The setting is lovely and welcoming. As for the food, the dishes are both generous and delicious. A great place in Caen that I highly recommend!

A very pleasant place, incredible food, I honestly recommend it 100%. I loooove it!

Passing through Caen for the weekend, we were recommended this restaurant just 50 meters from our hotel, and honestly, what a find! The dishes were truly appetizing, served with a smile by a young and dynamic staff. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and above all, we felt right at home! As for the prices, I found them fair and very reasonable for such a varied and extensive menu. We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we immediately went back for our second visit, this time to dine inside! And even though the staff had changed a bit (due to rest, I think...), we found the same friendly atmosphere, dishes that were different from the previous night's were still beautifully presented and delicious, and the same professional yet warm ambiance, all in a stylish setting! (Two small details, admittedly, but so rare these days: the napkins are made of thick, pristine white fabric, not paper!! And the steak tartare is prepared in front of the customer! That speaks to a certain level of quality.) In short, if we ever return to Caen, we'll definitely go back because, how can I put it? We had a wonderful meal and felt truly at ease without breaking the bank! Thank you to the whole team and...the chef(s) in the kitchen! A couple from Moselle (57) - (September 18-19, 2026)

We just had a wonderful time at the Taverne de Caen. The service was excellent, the waiters and waitresses were always very attentive to the customers. Thank you all!

The waitress was only marginally friendly. The restaurant was good, and the food was quite high quality.

Good food and good value for money (in France). The Service staff were excellent. Lots of patience for an Australians very poor French...they spoke better English than my French!

Delighted! Not only did we enjoy a delicious meal, but the service also took into account my requests on the website, namely that one of us needed to leave early. I highly recommend La Taverne 👌

Perfect for a quick and tasty meal, great atmosphere with a fantastic pianist
