Very busy and quite large restaurant close to the station. In summer, the terrace is popular in the afternoon and evening. The menu is quite traditional and very appealing. The staff are friendly although I sensed they were very rushed, and drinks took a while to arrive. Food was excellent although the bavette was tougher than I would like. A very likeable traditional restaurant.

Despite arriving late, I still had a great time and the decor is superb, especially with a table decorated with halves of large barrels resembling casks.

The menu offers a wide selection so everyone can find something they like. We enjoyed our meals. The service was impeccable and our server was very friendly. Our timing for going to the cinema right after dinner was taken into account and respected. We will gladly return!

Overall, we had a good time at this restaurant. The welcome was warm and the servers were very pleasant, smiling, and attentive. However, I don't recommend the mussels marinière. They were much too overcooked, even dry, which is a shame, especially in Caen, where you expect to enjoy good mussels. Despite this disappointment, the experience remains positive overall thanks to the quality of the service and the restaurant's atmosphere.

Le Bistrot Saint Michel

16/06/2026: Overall, it's a good little neighborhood restaurant. In my opinion, however, it lacks background music and a bit of explanation about the dishes when served (for example, the small pot served with the spiced vegetarian couscous). On the other hand, I absolutely loved the crème brûlée, which was excellent.
08/06/2026: Syphax and Antrhonie are the best of Paris! Not FOOD, not the music, just the service 5 stars! Thanks!
