A favourite restaurant. The decor is amazing and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. It had a seafood speciality but other meals are available. Menus available in both French and English. Food excellent. Plat de jour menu at lunchtime is reasonably priced, but so is most of the main dishes anyway. Recommended

A fantastic evening at La Taverne with Mexican friends who were discovering French cuisine. We ate very well and the service was quick and friendly. Special mention to Philippine who took excellent care of us throughout the meal. Thank you to the whole team, we'll gladly be back!

Passing through Laval for the first time, we stopped at La Taverne for lunch and opted for the set menu, which featured beef bourguignon that day. We were blown away by the quality (and the portion size!) of what we were served, and I'm including the dessert, a delicious rice pudding! The efficient and friendly service, as well as the refined yet unpretentious atmosphere, were also very enjoyable. Don't miss this gem; if we could, we'd be regulars... but it's a bit far from Quebec 😉
