Lotus d'Or sur Mamers

Excellent, authentic cuisine. I recommend it.

I'm from La Ferté-Macé, and we hate buffets, so we wanted to celebrate New Year's Eve in a traditional, home-style restaurant. We made a special decision and ordered seven courses, from appetizer to dessert. My husband and I ordered frog legs, calamari (with extra hot sauce because we like it spicy), Thai beef, and Peking duck—all excellent. The stir-fried noodles with vegetables and plain rice were exquisite. The staff was very friendly. What more can I say? I'll definitely be back, even though it's a bit of a drive, to try the other dishes on the menu.

The welcome was very warm, the starter and dessert were generous on the plate. Unfortunately, I do not recommend the donuts for dessert, which were extremely hard. They were hot but inedible, certainly from the frozen. Having pointed this out, she told me that they would become soft, but even when cooled, they were still just as dry. Too bad, I don't have a good memory, instead of making a commercial gesture by offering an ice cream.
