Mad Hatter Cafe sur

Great place to eat. Delicious food. Only negative...as a first timer, I walked in and had no idea if you sear yourself or wait to be seated. No one acknowledged my presence so I had to just grab someone walking by in order to find out you order at the front and then seat yourself. Loved the food though. Everything I tried was delicious!

The place is busy, nice and clean. I ordered a ginger bread cookie to go. Maybe it's me I've never eaten a ginger bread cookie that wasn't mass produced in some cookie factory. But this one was very Mnaa, didn't enjoy any part of it. No flavor, the texture felt stale. And for $4.50 +tax definitely not worth it.

It's a bakery/coffeeshop that also offers breakfast all day. I had the Mad Hatter Breakfast. Eggs, toast, avocado. Toast was served cold, scrambled eggs were a bit dry and barely warm, avocado was good. I think this is not a great place for egg breakfasts. However their bakery is very good, with a fine selection of tasty pies, cakes, muffins, etc. If you are in the mood for baked goods, this is your spot. For a traditional breakfast, maybe not so much.

Very nice environment for studying or lunch. Food and coffee are pretty good but mostly just pretty standard offerings

Haven't been to Mad Hatters in probably 15 years. Mom and I wanted some place to get a quick breakfast as a start to her birthday daughter day. She got the toasted croissant, and I got the spinach and feta quiche with the arugula salad. Both were delicious! The croissant was overflowing with egg and cheese. The quiche was cooked well, and the citrus dressing on the arugula salad was wonderful and tangy. The coffee was excellent. We finished off with a salted caramel brownie bar.... um, so so good! They shop was busy, but they were getting people taken care of fairly quickly. They also have nice outside seating for nice days. Great visit and start to our day.

Great coffee, laid-back and bright space, good seating options both inside and outside.

Inconsistent service and food, nice atmosphere. After multiple visits I don’t see the point in going back.

Great spot for coffee, breakfast and a post meal walk around the Duke campus. We went on the early side on a Sunday and got served quickly. Will definitely be back.

Super cute place to just hang or study. It can take a while for your food to come out though.

Stumbled across the cutest little Cafe/Bakery. The food was amazing, coffee was perfection, & the service was great! I sat outside at a bistro table across from Duke campus enjoying the scenery & amazing weather today. This is the perfect place for a quick bite, everything was absolutely gorgeous. I wanted one of everything! I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with anything they sell. Everything was decently priced, which I know my wallet loves lol. I'll most definitely be back. So glad I made a wrong turn and ended up finding this gem in the heart of Durham. Mad Hatter Cafe made my day 💙
