Maharaja sur Colmar

We ate well, the food was delicious.

We arrived back in Colmar late and other restaurants wouldn't serve us. Le Maharaja was open and took us willingly. Orders were taken as soon as we'd decided. Drinks came out immediately (with a complimentary rose lassi). The food was served quickly and was delicious. "How do they get the rice so good" asked my partner (long grain basmati, well cooked and grains well seperated). The chana masala was excellent, with a unique spice blend. The naan was super fresh. Two curries, one rice and one naan was just right for two people, but if you're hungry having another curry or starter would be ideal. I'm sorry we were too full to try the desserts, but might come back again with more of an appetite!

Ordered palak paneer and dal for takeaway. Palak paneer was typical punjabi(north indian) style and was lovely. Lady at the reception was very sweet too.

The essentials are there, the food is good, and that's perhaps the most important thing... in a restaurant!
