First, I want to say that we are very loyal guests of Maison Hache. For many years we have visited this restaurant 3 or 4 times per season when staying in our house in the Provence, alone or with family or friends. And every time we had a perfect evening enjoying the delicious cuisine as well the friendly service.
Last week the two of us went again and we found that the á la carte menu has disappeared as well the lovely dishes on it. Instead, they serve now just two menus, one for 140 euros and another one for 180 euros. For that considerable amount (much higher than in the past) one may expect a full dinner with rich ingredients. However, we were served 5 very small plates with, let's say, ordinary food like sardine, a soup au pistou and a very small piece of cochon. I must admit that everything was nicely served on the plate and that it tasted good. But in our opinion this was not at all worth the 140 euros we payed excl. the wine.
The best thing of the menu were the three amuses, served with the, also pretty expensive, champagne.
On the other hand we enjoyed again the setting just on the street of the beautiful village of Eygalières as well the still very friendly and effective service.
Since there are many other good restaurants, also for fine dining, in our region we will consider it twice to vist Maison Hache again which we think is highly regrettable.
