26/05/2026: The restaurant "La Grèce" was my go-to spot for Greek fries and harissa sandwiches during my youth, back when they were still open in the Masséna 13 shopping center in the 13th arrondissement of Paris (now closed). Today, the legacy of these dishes and this Greek fries sandwich lives on in the Louis Aragon shopping center in Villejuif, and... I found almost the same authentic taste as back then. Perhaps the meat, in terms of flavor or marinade, has changed a bit (the texture of the meat wasn't quite the same, although it was still good). The fries were frozen, just like back then, and the harissa sauce has a unique flavor that no kebab can replicate (it's salty and it's the best harissa in a sandwich). Unfortunately, the sandwich and the portions of meat and fries were a bit small (compared to my memories of it), which is a shame. The price of the sandwich as a meal deal (with a can of drink) is roughly the same as the competition who make a kebab with homemade meat like La Grèce (11.50 euros).
