Pleasant waiters but we had to ask for the carafe of water several times (we also had other drinks)
Homemade burgers and fries meal (too bad the blue cooking was not respected and the bacon was overcooked)
I've been to Melt's Deli near Les Halles and that was very good. I went on a Saturday night up into the 17th arrondissement to try a full BBQ dinner. I was not disappointed. They have a broader menu which includes poultry pork and beef. When you go in, you get on line and order what you want. The line passes right in front of the carver's station who are preparing meals. They use a digital scale to weigh your meat order - which is great because you are getting what you pay for. As I was passing, I saw the carver slicing the Brisket which looked amazing. He pulled out a smaller piece of meat and started cutting that and I asked what it was. "Beef Cheeks". OH, I've had beef cheek in Paris before usually brazed or in a stew but never BBQ'd. The brisket was amazingly tender juicy and smokey. But the highlight for me was the beef cheek. The bark was thick and crispy and the meat was incredibly juicy. It was like having burnt ends only a lot better. I've never seen beef cheeks on a BBQ menu back in the states but maybe it's just not a thing there or maybe it's a regional thing where I've not eaten bbq. Anyway. Amazingly tasty, smokey. Very casual and friendly atmospheere. Highly recommended. They are not overly generous with their bbq sauce but if you ask the server, they'll gladly get you extra.
I’ve had American bbq many times in the US. Melt is absolutely the real deal, stick to the classics - mainly the brisket and the ribs and of course corn bread.
