Obaasan Sushi sur Marseille

A small, unassuming restaurant, yet the food is absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the subtlety of the flavors. I highly recommend it.

A very good little restaurant, but a bit too small for the dining room.

We love eating at Obaasan Sushi. Maki and sushi aren't their specialty, but I recommend the chirashi, noodles, beef and cheese yakitori (amazing!), gyoza, and miso soup. The quality/price ratio is unbeatable thanks to the 50% discount on The Fork.

To be honest, It certainly resembles French-style sushi, but it doesn't resemble Japanese sushi at all. There's very little variety in the fish. The service was very friendly, but the atmosphere wasn't groundbreaking. You get the feeling it's a restaurant designed for the new TikTok and Instagram generation.

Great experience, excellent meal that respects traditions

Excellent Asian restaurant! Generous meal (here, 5 chicken spring rolls, a 10-piece sushi platter, pho soup, beef with onions, plus sticky rice and regular rice on the side, for a total of €58). A bit pricey though, and the space is rather small. Very friendly staff!

I had already been to Obaasan Sushi and had greatly appreciated the service and the quality of the food. For this second visit, it was cold outside, so I sat inside. I found the restaurant's decor absolutely stunning. In addition, there were two koi in an aquarium. They are beautiful and graceful fish that I greatly admire. I ordered sushi and maki. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The rice was perfectly sticky. The dessert was very refreshing: an arrangement of pineapple and mango slices. Everything was absolutely divine. I traveled to Japan without leaving my chair. I highly recommend it!

A truly wonderful experience... I really enjoyed the textures, the delicate flavors, and the overall taste. My absolute favorite ❤️ was the way the white rice was cooked 😇

We've been going there for several years and have always been delighted. Even though it's right in the heart of Marseille, not far from the Les Terrasses du Port shopping center, parking is expensive, and seating is limited (20-25 inside with additional outdoor seating), the quality of the food is exceptional and makes a world of difference. In short, it's a real treat. The restaurant offers special deals for regulars, discounts through TheFork, and very reasonable prices. Inside, the decor is simple and minimalist, with an aquarium featuring large fish. One small complaint, perhaps? The service can be either very quick or quite slow. In short, a top-notch and reliable choice.
