Pizza du Pharo - Pizzeria Marseille 7eme sur Marseille

Delicious pizza!!! After a day of boat tours and exploring the city, we weren't particularly hungry and didn't feel like going to a restaurant. This pizzeria is close to our hotel, and the aroma was truly appetizing. I asked for the pizza closest to an Italian margherita, and it was truly excellent. Perfect dough, excellent tomato sauce, good mozzarella. Quality black olives. Very friendly staff. Well done!

For the past few years I've been ordering your cheese pizzas, which are very, very good, and the receptionist is super friendly 💖 However, I wanted to try the three-cheese pizza, and it's really, really not good. It's a shame...

We stumbled upon Pizza du Pharo quite late one evening, walking back from Plage des Catalans. I stopped almost immediately because I could smell the wood fire from the street. Then I looked inside, saw the oven, and thought: yes, this looks promising. And it was so hot inside! A real furnace. Luckily, there were two small tables outside, and since it was already late, a light breeze had finally picked up. So we sat outside while waiting for our pizzas. We ordered two: the Cagole and another with mozzarella and anchovies. The Cagole was excellent. Generous, fresh, with lots of arugula and a very nice balance of flavors. The anchovy one was a little less convincing. The anchovies were plentiful and had all the wonderful intensity you expect from them, but there was simply too much mozzarella. The cheese overpowered everything else, and we only ate half of it. Sometimes, less is more, especially with an ingredient as strong as anchovies. But overall, it's a very good little pizzeria, and frankly better than many other pizzas we've tried in Marseille. A true wood-fired flavor, unpretentious, generous—exactly the kind of place you're happy to stumble upon on your way home. The anchovy pizza was less successful for us. The anchovies themselves were generous and had all that wonderful intensity you wanted from them, but there was simply too much mozzarella. The cheese overwhelmed everything else, and we only managed about half of it. Sometimes less really is more, particularly with ingredients as distinctive as anchovies. But overall, this was a very good little pizzeria and easily better than several other pizzas we tried in Marseille. Proper wood-fired character, unpretentious, generous and exactly the kind of place you’re happy to stumble across on the walk home. I’d return — but next time, less cheese and more of that beautiful wood fire.

We ordered 3 pizzas and they were delicious and the staff were super nice.

A huge thank you to Christophe and Aurélie for their warm welcome. The tomato sauce is homemade. This pizzeria has been around for 20 years; their expertise and love for pizza 🍕 are a real treat. We got takeout to enjoy at Plage des Catalans, and it was simply delicious!

Good pizza and cheap, convenient for a quick meal

A great spot near the beach. Quick and delicious. Very affordable prices (€12.50 for the four-cheese, royal, and goat's milk honey pizzas, for example). They don't take cards, but don't worry, there's an ATM 5 minutes away.

We ordered two pizzas to enjoy while watching the sunset. The service was quick and efficient, provided by a very pleasant young woman who took our order. The pizzas were delicious, no complaints whatsoever! A really great place.

The pizza delivery was very good, the delivery was a little long but as advertised (45 min).
