Pizzeria Au vieux pont sur Seyssel

The reason people choose this place, open on Mondays, is that they come mainly for the view of the Rhône and the cool breeze in the shade. The menus are decent value for money: mushroom risotto, hamburgers… But the service is a bit slow, making it difficult to get dessert. A shame.

We hadn't booked, but we received a very warm welcome; despite the crowds, we managed to get a table on the terrace by the water. A complimentary bottle of water was offered. The sodas were nice and cold and delicious. The pizzas: Exceptional—absolutely flawless. I'd never encountered the "problem" of not being able to fold a slice of pizza because it was so generously topped. Personally, I also recommend the 150g Angus burger. You're asked how you'd like it cooked (rare, medium, or well-done); I opted for medium. The bun was crispy, and the meat was juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. The bacon added a delicious touch. I could easily have eaten a second one. The fries were crispy and fresh, yet still fluffy inside. They were served plain, allowing you to adjust the seasoning (salt and pepper) to your liking, with a choice of ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard on the side. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a delicious and perfectly balanced dressing. For dessert, I had ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate sauce; it was also very good. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive throughout the meal. The bill was also accurate. We'll gladly return when we're really hungry! 🤭

We loved the food, the terrace overlooking the river, and the friendly service. The zucchini fritters and pizzas were delicious. The chocolate crunch was to die for.

Friendly welcome, very decent meal, but beware of the 50cl carafe of rosé from Provence at €19. Unacceptable for carafeed wine.

Simple but perfect. Excellent carpaccio, fries cooked in fresh, odorless oil. Very tasty sorbet.

An excellent place that I highly recommend! We had a wonderful evening. The welcome was warm, the service impeccable, and the entire team was incredibly attentive. A huge congratulations to the chef for his generous, flavorful, and high-quality cuisine. Everything was perfect from start to finish.
