The open wood-fired oven provided both ambiance and welcome warmth on a stormy autumn evening. The head of the family enjoyed a lively chat, and the daughter was attentive to the welcome and service. The atmosphere was good. The pizzas were less than stellar. They were well-baked but lacked spice, and the Emmental made them heavier than necessary.
