Relais de la Magdeleine sur Gemenos

We spent one night with a gourmet dinner “Discovery Menu”. On the hotel side, the Provençal bastide is simply magnificent. It feels like a setting worthy of Marcel Pagnol! The garden, the swimming pool and the orange grove bring an undeniable character. The decor of the rooms is a little dated but at the same time, it goes with the setting. Very good quality XXL bedding. We just regretted the soundproofing of the suite (noise from the corridor, music from the restaurant below, dog barking in the morning). The breakfast is good and plentiful, the waiters are attentive. As for the restaurant, we have a mixed opinion. Everything is certainly very good 👍 but there is a lack of risk-taking in the associations. On the other hand, I loved the revisited rum baba. We love the decoration and tableware from a local designer. But the room lacks privacy... We had a very noisy table of 8 people (+ a dog) next to us, which is a shame. That evening, the service was not up to par in a 1* restaurant: presentation of the dishes was haphazard, there was no sommelier and therefore it was impossible to pair food and wine!! The chef didn't even come to introduce himself at the end of the meal. Finally, I'm disappointed because it was a gift for my partner's birthday and they forgot the candle for dessert (although we had validated it by email). It's a shame because the setting is fantastic...

Très bel établissement dans le plus pur style provençal agrémenté d’une table étoilée, une tres belle piscine dans un cadre magnifique et des chambres toutes différentes avec de très grandes salles de bain pour certaines. Situé à l’entrée du village de Gémenos au pied de la Sainte Baume, des restaurants et deux bornes de recharge municipales sont disponibles à 5 minutes à pied de l’établissement

The best is the location and the surroundings of this 18C mansion. The garden, restaurant and pool area are stunning! The Michelin star restaurant is outstanding, although a bit pricy. Absolutely worth a visit. The rooms are spacious, in summer a little too warm (old AC) and could use an overall face lift. The hotel is dog friendly, you can bring the dog to most areas except for the pool area.

A delicious family dinner in an enchanting setting and refined, sophisticated cuisine. All the dishes were delicious, the cooking perfect and the presentation impeccable. An extra note for the desserts which are truly delicious. I highly recommend.

An excellent dinner! A very pleasant setting!

Unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of having taken a room at the hotel. On the other hand, the restaurant was excellent. A culinary journey like we hardly ever do anymore. From the welcome upon our arrival on site to our departure, including the aperitif in the outdoor lounge version and then the dinner which was exceptional. An equally impeccable service with waitresses and waiters smiling like we do more. Thank you for this welcome, we will come back and of course I highly recommend this establishment. Beautiful area. I came for my friend Paula's birthday and everything was perfect: from the aperitif to the dessert and the excellent service
