A simple and comfortable hotel, ideal for a restful night. The welcome is warm and friendly, in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Dinner is hearty, with attentive service and very reasonable prices. A good place to stay for an overnight stop.

Ideally located, not far from the Milesium (concert hall). The rooms are outdated, the carpet is dirty, there's no light in the toilet, the flush button doesn't work, the skylight blind is broken and has been replaced with a curtain, it's close to the road and the soundproofing isn't great.... The bread is frozen and there isn't enough for breakfast.... Breakfast is expensive for what's offered....

Les Grains D'Argent

12/04/2026: Positive points: - Strategic location - Parking - Cleanliness of the premises - The person we found at reception (this wasn't expected because when you arrive after reception hours, there's no one to greet you), was very friendly, pleasant, and polite. - Quiet establishment Negative points: - Very disappointed with the room. When we arrived at the hotel, we had a certain (positive) impression, confirmed by the atmosphere of the reception area on the ground floor, the warm decor, and the cleanliness of the corridors leading to the elevator and therefore to the rooms... but once in the room... the initial enthusiasm quickly faded: the room was very cramped, not very welcoming, and two things in the bathroom particularly irritated us: the doors are made of "glass" with a circled "hole" instead of a handle (both the door leading into the bathroom and the shower stall door). Absolutely impractical, both in terms of privacy (for example, if you book a room but not as a couple) and because it generates splashes and water leaks (the sink is right next to the shower door). The shower itself also had absolutely no water pressure (it was more like a "rain shower," pleasant for some perhaps, but not practical for those who like to be able to adjust the water pressure). - The stairs outside leading to the parking lot are not lit. We left the hotel early, so it was dark outside, and we almost fell down the stairs in the dark with our suitcases at arm's length! - Old-fashioned key system, not a magnetic card. It has old-world charm, certainly, but it's not practical or modern. - The room is outdated and clashes with the rest of the hotel. - We arrived after reception hours (10 pm) and we didn't appreciate the system of leaving the key in an envelope with our name written on it at reception, making it accessible to everyone. In conclusion, €130 is far too expensive for a one-night stay with this type of service (or the lack thereof).

Café d'Hautvillers

25/05/2026: A lovely stop if you are driving the Champagne Route!
25/05/2026: An experience that nearly turned into a nightmare… before being saved by truly excellent food. We were a group of 15 people, arriving with about ten classic cars, as part of an organized outing. The reservation had been made more than two weeks in advance, with several phone calls to confirm it. Yet, upon arrival, we were told that there was no reservation under our name. We were even nearly turned away at the entrance. The waitress then informed us that she was calling the owner, who was supposed to arrive “in two minutes.” The result: more than 20 minutes of waiting in the blazing sun, with 15 people who were understandably starting to lose patience, especially since some of them were elderly. As organizers, it was frankly not a pleasant situation to manage. Fortunately, the owner finally arrived and immediately acknowledged the mistake: the reservation had been entered a week late. He apologized and finally found a solution to seat us. And this deserves to be emphasized, because many would have simply shifted the blame elsewhere. Honesty is appreciated. One small regret, though: after such a long wait and the stress it generated, a small gesture of goodwill—even a symbolic one—would have been appreciated, even if it was just a coffee or a digestif offered to the organizers. Another slightly complicated point, but one that is obviously not the restaurant's fault: we had come with ten classic cars, and there isn't really any suitable parking nearby. We had to park more than a kilometer away, which isn't ideal for this kind of outing. And one thing must also be acknowledged: the place is a victim of its own success. Seeing the long line at the entrance and the barriers put in place can give a somewhat "factory-like" impression, but it mainly shows how popular the establishment is. But then… once seated, everything else was forgotten. The food is simply excellent. The tartares were impeccably fresh despite the intense heat, the grilled meats were perfectly cooked, the portions were generous, the wine was decent, and the setting was pleasant. Honestly, we received almost exclusively positive feedback from the entire group. This just goes to show that even after a very difficult start, quality cuisine and an owner who admits his mistakes can salvage the experience. Fiatissimo
