Restaurant Cafe du Palais sur Mantes-La-Jolie

Living in Mantes, and having used to shop at the previous owner's bakery (where you could watch the baguettes being made and savor the aroma of freshly baked pastries), we decided to try the new management, which has been in place for over a year, I believe, despite the removal of the oven, which used to be visible, replaced by seating. We gave them a few chances, but after three visits, the bread and pastries no longer taste fresh or homemade at all. The pain au chocolat and croissants are dry, lacking any crispness or buttery flavor, essentially like the frozen products you find in supermarkets. The breads taste very different, and the crust is more elastic than before, even though you can find much better options elsewhere for the same price, and that's what's disappointing. So it's not bad, but it's not what it used to be, and at the price they charge, it's very average. We didn't try the pastries, but the bread and viennoiserie section no longer displays the artisanal skill we were used to, which is a shame for a place called "bakery" (as indicated). Why not offer snacks or pastries, if they're worth it, as other visitors seem to have received positive feedback overall? That would be more representative.

The afternoon saleswoman is my favorite; she's incredible, very caring, attentive, and she does her best.

Since discovering this bakery near my home, I've been thrilled. Everything I've tasted and shared with others has been a hit. I'm loving the pastries and breads. I can't wait to explore the other cakes and savory treats. Not to mention the atmosphere and the friendliness. Every time I go, I want to spend time with the team, who are so kind and welcoming. Plus, the sales assistants are fantastic and so sweet. The service is excellent. And what's more, it reminds me of my childhood with that sense of community that's so lacking in some places these days. I have a favorite sales assistant, the one who works the afternoon shift. But that doesn't mean the other assistants aren't just as lovely. And our bakers in the back room deserve a special mention and praise for the quality of their products and the great value for money. And please, aside from always striving to do better, don't change. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Since the change in management, I've been coming almost every day and I never get tired of it! The products are truly high quality, whether sweet or savory, sandwiches, pastries, everything is delicious. They have original creations that you won't find anywhere else. There's now a small, clean, and pleasant dining area. Special mention goes to the waitress, whose cheerfulness and infectious smile make every visit a pleasure. I highly recommend it!

Pain et Délice du Palais is a small bakery in the center of Mantes La Jolie, offering a friendly welcome and excellent products at good prices.

The welcome is warm. The staff is super friendly and professional. The place is bright and airy, with a cozy corner where you can enjoy a drink or sample the delicious treats displayed in the window. The focus is on crusty breads, pastries, and cakes. They offer homemade products throughout the day. I had a long coffee and a traditional flan. A real treat!

Excellent pastries, the pistachio éclair is a real treat. The two saleswomen are very friendly. I recommend it 100%.

While passing through Monteville, I had the opportunity to sample the breads and cakes at this bakery. The traditional baguette was perfectly crusty, and the pastries, as beautiful as they were delicious, were divine. The place is spacious and pleasant, and the saleswomen were welcoming and friendly. A truly excellent place that I highly recommend!
