Restaurant Fort du Saint Eynard sur Le Sappey-En-Chartreuse

The Fort's menu is as good as ever! Complementary mother-daughter work that you can feel all the way to the souvenir shop. Family atmosphere, pleasant with great taste in every corner.

Superbe endroit, route d'accès étroite, parfois difficile de se croiser mais le site vaut le déplacement. Nous y avons déjeuné agréablement et simplement en terrasse avec une vue extraordinaire sur le massif des Bauges toujours enneigé. C'était le bon jour, 30 degrés dans la plaine, du soleil et de l'air en altitude. Escargots classiquement bien préparés, gratin dauphinois malheureusement trop liquide. En bonus nous avons vu arriver les voitures de la Route Alpine, étape étoilée.

I have no complaints. We had a pleasant time. The service was fast, the waitresses were pleasant, the dishes were delicious! I recommend the chocolate cake!

Overlooking the city of Grenoble, Fort du Saint-Eynard offers a beautiful view and freshness when the summer heat invites you to come out of the Grenoble furnace. The restaurant welcomes you to this visitable place. The cuisine is simple, it revolves around the famous gratin dauphinois, available in plain or porcini versions. Three menus are offered. They are very close to each other in terms of price with slight variations in content. We opted for the Fort menu. Caillette as a starter with a salad, hot sausage and gratin dauphinois, then chocolate cake. Portions are correct. Rather abundant on the hot sausage and salad side. The gratin turned out well. The hot sausage was also good quality. Not excited about the chocolate cake or the abomasum. Very good service. From reception to departure. Warm and smiling. Everything we love. The place is atypical (a room in the fort), well decorated, mixing restaurant and regional products for sale. The ground is littered with gravel. Quite expensive, but the Chartreuse ice cream and Génépi milkshake were unforgettable, and an unexpectedly delightful start to our hike across the Chartreuse national park!
