Arrival:
• Smooth Arrival: Our arrival went very well, with our luggage and vehicle promptly taken care of. We were given a tour of the property and shown the various restaurants, which was a nice touch.
• Early Check-In: The room was ready at 12:30 PM, which is always a pleasant surprise.
Accommodation:
• Spacious Suite: The suite was spacious and well-appointed, providing a comfortable stay.
• Pleasant View: The view of the villa and garden from our suite was very pleasant, enhancing the overall experience.
Cons:
Bathroom Issues:
• Shower Water Evacuation: During our use of the bathroom, we discovered that the shower water evacuation wasn’t working properly, nearly flooding the room. We had to stop showering to avoid further issues. Although we informed the staff, nothing was done beyond presenting apologies, which was disappointing.
Vehicle Charging:
• Lack of Initiative: Despite having chargers available in the car park, the staff did not offer to put our vehicle on charge or take the initiative to do so.
Check-Out:
• Frustrating Experience: The check-out experience was frustrating, with all costs not yet allocated to the room and an incorrect charge for an extra bed.
Service:
• Lack of Personalization: While the overall service was good, it lacked personalization. It would be appreciated to be recognized when going around the hotel, adding a touch of familiarity and warmth.
Conclusion
Les Prés d’Eugénie offers a luxurious stay with spacious, well-appointed suites and a pleasant view of the villa and garden. The arrival experience was smooth, and early check-in was a welcome convenience. However, the stay was marred by a malfunctioning shower, lack of initiative regarding vehicle charging, and a frustrating check-out experience. The service, although good, lacked the personalization expected from a luxury Relais & Châteaux property. Improvements in these areas would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
