Today, a large majority of cooks no longer make their own fries, mayonnaise, whipped cream, etc. This greatly diminishes the quality of a good meal.
That said, the fried food is good, as are the blueberry tart and crème brûlée. The waitress was friendly and smiling.
Living in Haute-Savoie, a visit to Le Grenier in the St. Dizier l'Evêque area (90) is always a great pleasure. A very well-run family restaurant, with a very warm welcome and very reasonable prices. I particularly enjoyed the "croûte forestière" (a type of savory tart) on one of the menus, which I love, followed by an all-you-can-eat fried carp, which was excellent. Being a bit of a gourmand, I finished with a generous "café gourmand" (a small coffee with a selection of small desserts). Thank you all for this lovely experience. I highly recommend it. ♥️
I'd like to begin by commending the warm welcome and highly professional service; well done! The fried carp was excellent, served with salad and fries, all perfectly cooked, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident.
Thank you for the caramelized crème brûlée; the quantity looks surprising, but the taste and texture are delightful—I loved it!
Well done to the whole team.
