It's best to book in advance... it's a sign. Local products, homemade cuisine, simple atmosphere. A pleasant break during our trip. Thanks to the team.
Perfect for a lunch stop.
It wasn't easy to find a simple, small restaurant for a midday stop on our bike ride! Aside from drippy burgers, unappealing pizzas, and burnt fries, we despaired of finding a decent restaurant along the way. Almost never a proper menu with what you'd call "traditional" home cooking. Fed up with burger tacos with industrial mayo and ketchup! Or the so-called "starred" restaurant where you find three odds and ends and two dashes of sauce at the bottom of a large plate for a prohibitive price!
Well, at Marmitrol, we found what we were looking for. Everything is homemade with quality ingredients.
A daily menu with a starter, main course, and homemade dessert, all well prepared and cooked with care, and generous portions, particularly appreciated after a long bike ride.
A delicious, creamy soup to rehydrate, followed by a main course (tagine with Mediterranean vegetables (butternut, fennel, parsnips, and potatoes)) and a delicious fromage blanc with chestnut cream to finish.
All at a more than reasonable price: €21 in total, with the added bonus of a friendly waitress who takes care of her customers. No waiting and impeccable service. It's a shame this restaurant is a bit far from our home; we would have gladly come back!
We came for the first time on Monday and returned on Friday. A warm welcome, friendly staff.
On Monday, we had the duck breast with fries (we're Belgian, but the fries were delicious and homemade).
A lovely atmosphere.
Thank you.
