Restaurant L'Espiguette sur Rouen

So this was a weird one. I want to start with saying that this was not fully the servers fault; whoever was in charge of scheduling should have never allowed just one server to work a diner shift. That being said; somehow it happend. We had a reservation, got showed to our seats fairly quickly only to not be able to order drinks for 50 minutes. 50 minutes. Thats ridiculous. The server was clearly overwhelmed, and even started serving a table that came after us. Listened we dont mind waiting for food, but let us at least get some wine first? By know you might be wondering why the place still got 3 stars, and well, the food is just that good? Dont be attached to the food you want to order, they wont have it, but what you do get will be dilisoush. Furthermore, the little square we where on was old and lovely. Very nice ambience for the meal.

A super nice bar atmosphere in the heart of Rouen with a cool terrace, guaranteed not a tourist trap.

Very nice and quaint place, slow service, really good cheese platter... but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired...

Gabriel gave us a fantastic welcome. He was short-staffed tonight, but the front-of-house and kitchen teams did a fantastic job! No complaints whatsoever! The food was delicious and the service impeccable – a truly wonderful experience.

The atmosphere is pleasant and a bit rustic. Service is slow, but the waiters are friendly. The food is excellent, as is the wine.

Very professional; this was our second visit, and we'll gladly return. Excellent wine recommendations. Our favorite bistro in Rouen.
