Restaurant l'Océan sur Le Bois-Plage-En-Re

A place found by chance and to remember in our tablets. Very popular restaurant, a remarkable table which corresponds to what I expect from a restaurant. I haven't 'tested' the hotel. Very very friendly staff. I will return there with great pleasure.

Fabulous meal for a family Birthday, impeccable service, great food and lovely ambiance and surroundings. We all had 3 courses each of which was beautifully presented, fresh and delicious.

Nous étions impatients de retourner dans ce restaurant après une dernière visite il y a 10 ans. L'accueil a été plutôt sympathique et les entrées ont été servies très rapidement, ce qui nous a mis en appétit. Cependant, notre enthousiasme a été tempéré par une attente de 45 minutes pour les plats principaux. Bien que les plats soient bons, ils manquaient malheureusement de saveur. Nous avons fait part de notre remarque au responsable. Sa réponse a été que l'affluence était la cause de ce délai, sans offrir de mot d'excuse. Un geste d'attention aurait été apprécié. C'est dommage que notre expérience n'ait pas été à la hauteur de nos souvenirs.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff, good food in a cozy restaurant with great service and enjoy a wonderful cycling holiday. The hotel is highly recommended 👍

This restaurant is one (if not THE) best restaurant on the island. The cuisine is tasty, classic while bringing a little touch of modernity (octopus and sausage, or monkfish studded with smoked tuna for example). The setting is also superb: intimate and carefully decorated room and interior courtyard. We come here once or twice a year during our visit to the Ile de Ré. The only small point of improvement for me: the boss should have a little more business sense. Indeed when regulars come twice a few days apart and pay a substantial bill (+160€ for each visit), we expect a small gesture (a digestive or aperitif), but this does not come to the minds of managers. Of course this is not likely to make us take away a star from this wonderful establishment! We will come back next year without fail!

Excellent and refined dishes, particularly kind welcome and lovely place. I can only highly recommend this restaurant.

Review of the restaurant. Well done to the chef and owners. Table as perfect as ever. The boldness and the mixture of flavors are there. I recommend with relish.
