Restaurant Soces sur Paris

A wonderful experience at Soces with a fresh menu and good wines. A real treat!

A very good restaurant with a lovely setting and friendly, professional staff. The only downside: the menu and its prices. They encourage a "tapas" style dining experience (like many restaurants in Paris these days), but the portions are very small and the prices sometimes reach those of a main course. It's a shame. Especially since the à la carte menu is very limited for tapas, making it impossible to enjoy a wide variety of dishes when dining in a group. More suited to a romantic dinner for two, then, with a comfortable budget (laughs).

One of my favorite restaurants in Paris!

Well, it worked out well. For lovers of seafood and rare wines (a much better selection than Clamato, in that respect) – preferably at the beginning of the month, if you catch my drift. It's a bit cramped, but we forgive them, because it contributes to the "bourgeois-bohemian" atmosphere that people from the Marais floodplain, like myself, might almost come to appreciate, in retrospect, thanks to the way memory embellishes everything (long sentence, in homage to Proust: I'm dying to see what automatic translation into English will do with it!). In a way, getting up three or four times per service to let Maclaren strollers through creates a sense of intergenerational, bourgeois-bohemian community and a forward-looking spirit, far superior to that of the 3rd arrondissement, eternally marked by the tragedy of the Templars and the royal family! Just steps from the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Belleville, where Edith Giovanna Gassion, the future Edith Piaf, was baptized in December 1917. It's right outside the metro station—the church, I mean. Having lunch on Saturday, November 1st, All Saints' Day, you couldn't make it up.

Excellent starters, perfectly balanced and surprising. However, the price was a bit too high; we were still hungry after six starters, one main course, and three desserts for three people. The dessert (blueberry tart) was far inferior to the rest of the dishes and generally disappointing. The service was the most surprising aspect: no presentation of the dishes, no clear answers to basic questions about the food, no wine list introduction, and a clearly limited knowledge of the wine list.

Excellent service, very fresh products, and a pleasant Parisian atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!

Arrived relaxed, left after an hour because it was too noisy. No complaints about the food, however, the prices are high for the portion size.

Nice, but it's a shame the service was a bit slow (taking the order, bringing drinks...); despite the fact that there weren't many people there.
