A multi-story restaurant with a glass facade in the center of Mulhouse. Beautiful decor, great atmosphere, excellent service, and very friendly and welcoming waiters and waitresses. A wide variety of dishes. The salmon carpaccio was excellent. Very good value for money.

Two experiences in one week and two contrasting meals. The first time, very good lamb chops, quick and friendly service. The second time, an interminable hour-long wait for the main course, and that was without a starter. The service was barely acceptable and the dining room was very noisy. The culprit: several groups and a kitchen struggling to keep up. Not sure I'll go back.

Hug is a temple of steak tartare, and it shows on the menu—there are 22 options (beef or fish base), which is reason enough to come here.
A renowned establishment since 1956, decorated by a Swiss architect. The interior is elegant and welcoming; you feel right at home. In fact, all of Mulhouse comes here, especially to be pampered by the kind and welcoming waitresses.
I tried: foie gras, kidneys, and braised ham hock on a bed of sauerkraut. Note: Hug doesn't have classic "Alsatian sauerkraut," but if you're a little disappointed, Ms. Huguette will find a way to accompany your ham hock. Many thanks!

For someone who only ever ate raw meat, at 44 years old, steak tartare was a wonderful discovery.
It was my first, but certainly not my last. They even offer to let you taste the spices with a server who comes to taste them.
Delicious! 🤤
The only downside was the hour-long wait for our meal. Our main courses and appetizers were ready, but no one seemed concerned that we weren't eating. Finally, everything was served at once five minutes later.
The meal was excellent, but the service could perhaps be improved.
