All-you-can-eat restaurant for over €30 in the evening, so a bit pricey for my taste.
However, the setting is superb, the establishment is very spacious, there's a huge selection, and personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Personally, I find the place a bit noisy, and with two children aged 8 and 11, ending up with a bill of over 60 euros for a bottle of water and a beer is really too expensive.
Perhaps buffets aren't for us... we don't stuff ourselves, and our behavior isn't about always wanting more, unlike some people around us. The food is good and there's plenty of choice. The staff is friendly.

To summarize: 10/10 for the selection. 7/10 for the taste. 8/10 for the atmosphere. Excellent value for money at lunchtime. Hello. We went to the Royal Buffet in Mérignac on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for lunch. I almost didn't go given some negative reviews, but I must say I don't understand the negative comments. Lunch service, €20.90 per person. We arrived 15 minutes before the doors opened. And until they did, the queue reached 100 people. The doors opened a few minutes before noon. And within 10 minutes we were seated. Once we had ordered our drinks, we were able to go to the buffets. So, right from the start, the selection is comprehensive and enormous. And there, the choice is incredible. More than 30 types of sushi. More classic Asian salads or crudités; hot and cold dishes. Fish stations, meats to cook. Wok dishes to make. Pizza, plenty of side toppings. A buffet with cheese, charcuterie, and raw and cooked seafood. The choice is endless. So, for the selection, 10/10. For the quality, the sushi is a bit large but full of different flavors. The salads are well-seasoned. The pre-cooked meats are melt-in-your-mouth tender: duck breast, beef fillet, shredded beef leg, and even lamb shank (which you have to eat whole, though). There's a bit of a wait for the food to be cooked, but nowhere near the 20 minutes mentioned in some reviews (maybe on weekends). For dessert, there are verrines, cakes, ice cream scoops, a white and dark chocolate fountain, macarons, and pastries. Even waffles and pancakes. The desserts are mass-produced, but they taste good. Plates are cleared as needed. Each time, we're asked if we've finished. Even the toilets are nice. We'll be back. Thank you.

I've been at this restaurant for three days now, and the buffet is incredible—sushi, fish, etc.—a huge selection. Plus, each dish has its own unique taste and aroma; I loved it. Go without hesitation!

Impersonal, noisy place. Cafeteria-style with tables all lined up in rows.

So, I don't usually leave reviews, but this time it's a must. I went to the Buffet Royal in Mérignac, the new establishment that just opened next to the old one, less than 50 meters away. Superb establishment, no complaints there, lots of choices, nothing to say about that either. However, regarding the price, it's a huge disgrace! It's not just an increase, it's a price hike! On Sundays, the price has gone from €25.90, which we used to pay, to €32.90, a €7 increase on the buffet. Isn't that a bit shameful?! So now I'm heading to L'Océanique, which stays at €25.90 on Sundays.

This restaurant consists of one vast, open-plan room. Just inside the entrance, a small cascading stream greets visitors before they encounter a member of the staff. While the staff's apparent lack of fluency in French can't be faulted for not offering a warm welcome, their shy smile is always appreciated.
This is a true all-inclusive restaurant. From the starter and main course with its side dish to the vegetables and desserts, everything is unlimited! This is worth noting, as the price of a set lunch on weekends is currently €25.90 in September, which is no surprise. Drinks and coffee are available for an additional charge. During the week, the restaurant seems to be packed at lunchtime (the price is €17.90). Regardless of the dish, the choice is vast, but the emphasis is on Asian specialties. Dishes that require it are kept warm by a permanent heating system located above each station. Despite this, unfortunately, once on the plate, the food doesn't always stay warm. Microwave ovens are available to address this issue. On the other hand, fresh bread is available 🙂. This is very rare in Asian restaurants. The restaurant also offers karaoke on Saturday nights. A small stage is provided for this entertainment. Discreetly, but constantly, there are eyes watching over you… ☹️
There are also private function rooms located in a separate area that I wasn't able to access. These can be reserved in advance.
Regarding the taste of the food… despite impeccable hygiene, the taste is only acceptable thanks to the sauces. Are these defrosted products with sauces added? Friendly clientele. Good atmosphere.
